Ferries
Sydney Ferries can be traced back as far as the First Fleet in 1789.
The first ferry service went from Sydney Cove to the settlement of
Parramatta and was officially named The Rose Hill Packet aka The
Lump.
The Rose Hill Packet was built by convicts and powered by sail and
oar.
Today, Sydney’s world famous ferry fleet are an integral part of the
city carrying millions of passengers to numerous destinations for
work and pleasure .
